Statement
The theme of this work is nature. In capturing the manifestation
of nature in its many permutations; I interpret this magnificent
metamorphosis on canvass. As an artist this is my raison d'etre;
it has become my aesthetic catalyst for the creation of paintings.
In the elaboration of this work my hope is to produce a visual
result that will engender a sense of equanimity in the viewer.
I believe that for mankind, a measure of world peace can be
realized when the aggregate contentment of individual people
is realized through the power of the aesthetic. As I see my
participation in this quest, I make art that, while not overtly
or gratuitously ostentatious, presents a reflection of our daily
life. |

About Yumi
UCHIDA
Yumi paints everyday. In her humble manner she perseveres in
this endeavor. In describing Yumi, the term humble may be misleading
when contemplating the brilliant result of her effort; she is
merely one who does not use adjectives or academic credentials
to stand in lieu of her obvious talent. It is clear that she
paints drawing from an inner, one could say spiritual, source
of energy. Travelling an arduous road of trial and error, Yumi
has joined the art world as a seminal artist. Her ability to
bridge the tangible with the intangible, to in so doing create
a kind of euphoria, illustrates her skill in artistic interpretation.
Her continued prominence as an artist is unquestionably assured.

| A Brief
History |
 |
Graduated from Musashino Art University Junior
College industrial arts design course specialising in metal
work in 1994. After graduation, I undertook a production planning
careet path as a textile / accessories designer. At the same
time, I also learned Web Design at a specialised school and
began producing homepages. Afterwards, I extended to produce
two dimensions work (mainly work in oils) as individual interests.
At the present time, I am working on creations without any genre.
